Televangelists: thugs?

Ability of high-pitched public discourse is not sole measure of noble intentions, it may be a camouflage to hide deceit.

It would have taken decades to earn so much of attention and PR gain as they receive from just 'liking' and 'followed' by few delinquents. Talk of eloquence, some of them would be smartest orator of our time, can convince those of weak-faiths to convert even!! But they are only among scores of preachers who have invaded tele-space and have found millions of low-wit audience who are ready to believe and imbibe whatsoever comes to them gift-wrapped in high-pitched oratory of words.

There is no dearth of blind pigeon-minded public to convincingly and happily get into the trap of wickedness these televangelists weave around. These thugs switch to classics like Sanskrit to stamp any argument with 'finality'. They exist all over spectrum of different faiths and practices.

Unfortunately the corollary is that these same mass media tricks are being adopted by even politicians to successfully transform public opinion into their version of the future, they market.

To a thug who made thru maze of hierarchy with adroitness of deceit

I always thought it foolish to respond to protracted roguery I witnessed for past several years. But let me be half wit this one time as I feel bit envious of this thuggery, and shout few loud words for the one who needed a wakeup call everyday, and let that be now.

I rarely encountered a human so negatively secretive in dealings, relations and speaking.

Whenever ( and many times over!) people called you LIAR it wasn't spontaneous ranting of their anger. It had always been a thoughtful observation about you.

Unfortunately you also happened to had been burdened with being a Boss, a position you attained riding on deceit. So those whom you commanded, could only giggle while actually wanting to react madly!!

I never met another professional, which unfortunately you could never prove that you had been one, who could be as callously inefficient and indecisive at workplace as you had been.

You first used to sit on decisions like a devil who has power to stop time and then all of sudden create panic of urgency that makes whole team rushingly trip into the burial pit you used to dig for them. You build fake sheet of false clout from threads of the performance of your team and then create a shroud out of that to lay your teammates underneath.

You think that you had been smart undertaker but you too must go under once and for good to undo your untrustworthiness, savagery, cunning and buffoonery. I hope you will know to learn this much someday.

Yours should be a case study of 'how not to deliver under any expectations and yet blame others' !!

Science and God

As we try to explore intricacies of universe through scientific and technological advances, God is becoming more and more proven as we get more and more confused as science makes things more and more clear.

It's more the enormity of the discoveries of science, particularly the unfathomable minuteness and the infinite vastness of the universe, which conclusively bolsters faith in God today, than the trust we could ever had on the mythological past as told through scriptures.

Perhaps the magical narrations of the religious texts full of miracles of mythical characters, might have been needed to install the idea of God in minds of public during the yonder years, or may be relevant even today for the vast majority for instilling awe for the omnipotent.

Punctuality on office closing impacts carpooling success

Rising fuel expenditure, strenuously tiring commuting, awareness on environmental issue, are making policy makers and social advocates recommend car pooling, calling it the best society driven initiative for addressing these issues.

Why do we commute? To go to our work place every weekday barring business people who may be commuting every day. But largely it’s office goers who use personal transport to commute in lakhs every day in cities of Delhi, Mumbai, and other metros.

Most don’t use car pool for simple reason that in India while we expect and enforce punctuality of arrival in office, no one talks about punctuality of departure.

To quote an example, Govt departments and PSUs in Delhi which cause lakhs of employees on road commuting everyday, it is strange that very few resort to car pooling even though it is easiest to organise such community benefiting schemes among them.

To understand the reason we should look at the office time pattern. Govt has been very strictly calling for punctuality in offices and is taking pride in succeeding on this endeavour to a large extent. But the requirement of punctuality is addressed only for reaching office before specific time in morning say 0930 am beyond which employees are punished with compulsory leave.

However conveniently the Govt and bosses in PSUs refuse to own obligation of ensuring that employees are not held up in office beyond evening closing hours say beyond 0530pm.

Most Indian companies, PSU and govt offices have obnoxious practice of encouraging late sittings in offices. Senior managers take pride in sitting late and holding meetings late in to nights. They ensure that their subordinates too leave late.

The call of punctuality, obviously, doesn’t apply to the closing timing of offices.

Coming back to carpool, commuter looks for mobility both ways. While time for leaving home for office may be fixed in the morning, it’s almost impossible to leave office at one particular time in evening because of aforementioned reasons. So carpool which require match of four, fails to take off in evening and retrospectively fails morning car pool as well.

If Govt and company managements are honest on punctuality in India they would ensure that while employees are expected to reach office in time, management too ensures with integrity that office closes at particular time. Emergency and contingencies can be separately addressed. Carpool too may succeed in Delhi.

It wasn’t a Kumbh

It was winter of 1983-84, my last year of college in Allahabad, when Ardh Kumbh happened. Being not so ritualistically inclined even though had been actively religious and believer, me and my friend discussed rather amusingly and decided to visit Ardh Kumbh lest we lose this opportunity of Sangam Sanaan which we may repent when we grow old and turn ritualistically religious then. So we went riding the cycle rickshaw from college in Teliarganj to Sangam.

This was only a Ardh Kumbh. The crowd was large but nowhere near what we had always known about the Kumbh. . We could leisurely perform what we came for. It was like a routine.

Kumbhs are different and huge, very huge. This was not kumbh, this is Ardh Kumbh.

May God give benefit of doubt to all those who were seen flocking to Sangam for a Kumbh Sanana last year. May He bestow on them His complete blessings, otherwise reserved for some other time. It is gullible surrender of public to the tricks of politicians who showcased a local — regional— Ardh Kumbh, as a Kumbh, which it is not.

Ardh Kumbh–which happens after six years– is very small mainly a kind of regional affair compared to a Kumbh a national event–which happens after twelve years– and it has also been of much less importance. People hardly ever noticed or talked about a ardh kumbh previously outside Allahabad or nearby region.

God only knows if He would like to back lies. Turning Ardh kumbh into a Kumbh, and giving it shape of a large promoted event, people have been made to believe the narrative through media hype. Politicians of all colors and caps are using up this built up vastness like a canvas for canvassing ...
