Period 1991-2014 was most transformative

Generations which straddled the period 1991-2014 for  almost two decades experienced most transformative progress India ever made so far. It's almost unrecognisable India we crossed during this period and landed where we are today. There is hardly any thing uniquely new which has happened recently. Not that we have not progressed but that was all for the momentum we already had been in. The world itself has taken big speed towards technological progress, whosoever would have been at helms would not have been able to stop the march. I don't see anything new today which was not already in making or not achieved during that period. This includes mobiles, internet bandwidths, space strides, going to moon and mars, intercontinental missiles, metros, tunnels, roads to far off places, railway network, nuclear empowerment, even education and rural upliftment, MANREGA, and long period of peace. 

There were some marker negative  incidents the kind of which can always be counted for any period but to create deception. If a boat landed with mercenaries in Mumbai, we had Pakistanis infringing borders and doing mayhem in Kashmir several times in recent years.

Transform Himachal

Hill states like Himachal and Uttrakhand have to sacrifice a lot in name of protecting the environment on behalf of other regions of the country to ensure their air remains clean and they get good rains. WE fail to impose or demand compensating mechanism from centre or other states or from the visitors. Make your self one, and think yourself a PREMIUM destination. 

We are a beautiful state endowed with best tourist attractions. STOP selling state as pilgrimage destination. Pilgrims are low paying , more expansive to manage and maintain. behave like businessman not as religious facilitator. 

There is good case to focus on tourism industry for revenue and for employment. Improve hospitality and transport industry to world standards. Learn from Goa and aim for Switzerland. It's possible if we make it exclusive. Open up, allow setting up of large hotels and resorts; regulate not throttle. Stop messing environment  with expressways, rather improve smaller roads and rural connectivity. Himachal is raw diamond. Shine it worthy.

New mood in opposition

Most important of recent transformative upping of opposition’s assertiveness is not that they have found ruling party pants down. Most important is that opposition leaders Rahul, Akhilesh, etc have stopped being nice and gentleman any more. They understand now that they have to be ruthless and firm to successfully deal with immoral political opponents. Their language and recent actions are cuing to that transformation. People should be wary of this new political mood. Not all is good for all. ‬

Formal reply to Munir? Needed?

Many Pakistani generals in past have foul mouthed idiotic comments often shooting from hip damaging bilateral relations with neighbours and also dirtying their own domestic political and security environment. Army’s civil interference in Pakistan is not liked by even all Pakistanis. The largest political party Tahreek e Insaf Pakistan led by Imran openly calls out army leadership for being dictatorial. Best wishes to people of Pakistan.

Such valueless Generals making informal insipid comments in small convenient gatherings should not bother a mature democracy and a leading global power to issue  formal official statements. Any political leader or minister from ruling party or PM could have snubbed that with disdain in any cursory talk anywhere. It doesn’t behove well for our maturity in global arena to get rattled by small people every now and then. But are we diplomatically behaving maturely lately?

India and present day decay

Those who have power to impose sanctions would continue to do so unreasonably as well, unless we rise to that level of economic, technological or defence  empowerment and could design enforceable sanctions favouring us, it is futile exercise to sulk. Currently the direction we are in, doesn’t cue towards anything optimistic for next few decades unless we reset hard. Only the era of Nehru was completely transformative for India. Had we continued with that vision we would have been ahead of China today. Rest all  episodes of political changes were merely fall and recovery phases only. The present one being the abyssal. It will take time from here to return to even normal what we had been. 

राहुल गांधी

देश के हर नागरिक को राजनीति करने का अधिकार है। जिसका बाप प्रधानमंत्री भी रहा हो उसको भी। 

यदि सन् २००५ में १०० मीटर की  स्प्रिंट दौड़ते और जीत जाते थे तो शायद लोग कह पाते कि इनको तो नाम का, ख़ानदान का, और पिता का, माँ का, और रेस के आयोजकों तक का सहारा मिला होगा और स्टार्ट लाइन से आगे खड़ा कर दौड़ाया था। सही है, किंतु ये राजनीति की रेस दो दशक से भी ज़्यादा की मैराथन निकली। आज २५ साल बाद और मैराथन के लाखोंवें मरहले या गर्दिशों  के बाद भी कोई ये कहे  कि परिवार के नाम की बैसाखी लिए है तो ये निरर्थक  बकवास होगी। 

इस दौरान  राहुल ने इस दौड़ के हर मरहले, लैप में अपनी निजी क़ाबलियत का प्रदर्शन बखूबी किया है। सब्र से इतने ताक़तवर दुश्मनों का सामना कर, तिरस्कार और गाली गलोच तक सह लेना किसी को भी तपा के ख़रा  कर सकता है। जो धनाढ्य व्यवसायी अपनी अयोग्य औलादों को बोर्ड में ऊँचा बिठा लेते हैं, जो नेता अपनी संतानों को नाकाबिल होने पे भी बड़े सरकारी पद या खेल का प्रबंधन दे देते हैं, जो फ़िल्मी हस्तियों अपनी औलादों को हीरो बना  देते हैं और  उनके लिए फ़िल्में बनाते हैं, वे सब मुनाफ़िक़ भी परिवारवाद का इल्ज़ाम लगा  कर राहुल का उपहास करते रहे हैं। लेकिन ये शख़्स  अपनी क़ाबलियत पे खड़ा है, परिवार की नहीं । किसी का डरना मुनासिब है।

US not laggard , man. You are.

For those who are foolishly saying India is doing great while US is laggard! 

Any entity which is prosperous and whose business is widely spread tends to carry more debt also.

For instance, Reliance Industries has debt exceeding ₹1 lakh crore, and Adani Enterprises has debt over ₹50,000 crore—because these are wealthy business conglomerates. In contrast, the small grocer next door likely would not even have a ₹1 lakh business loan.

Next, growth of an entity or even a nation even if it seems modest in percentage terms, is significantly higher in absolute value. 6% growth on $4 trillion economy  (₹4 lakh crore dollars) would yield $240 billion next year. But even a 3% growth on $29 trillion economy (₹29 lakh crore dollars) would results in $870 billion. Means $630 billion more. Lower percent growth on larger base yields much higher absolute growth. 

let’s not even discuss per capita income in the U.S. and in India. It would be embarrassing. It’s less than 4% of US per capita income.
