A neo- Sadhu calling Ankor Wat symbol of ancient Hindu power

Some people riding on prowess of natural gifted power of oration love to display  serious malignancy of their knowledge and wisdom, all for sake of cheap popularity they acquire over gullible masses who are now becoming sore point of our modernity and civilisation taking nation to destructive path on pseudo nationalism forgetting that world beyond India always existed and to surprise always quite prosperously!! Even today.

Ankor Wat was built by local blood Khmer kings particularly Suryavarman II in 12th century when Chola kingdon was already in decline in India. Cholas did raid parts of southern Indonesia but never succeeded. Khmer was never part of any Indian king. Their kingdoms only had loose relation with Indians as they had  with Chinese and even Arabs. Mahayana and Therwada Budhism had brought lots of similarities of Hinduism to those lands. Khmer King Suryavarman II adopted Vishnu as his chief God and in Ankor wat shows himself as Vishnu.

Just because Suryavarman name sounds south Indian doesn’t make him any Madrasi. Khmer kingdom was one of the largest in its time that world had. Indian kings of those times were way smaller to them in many ways like in territory they controlled and and in riches.

Yes, because world those days was very collaborative and inclusive unlike now what we are turning into, Ankor Wat  had lots of influence from Tamil architectures.  May be some architects and workers were brought from India. Trade between Indian east coast and far east was flourishing those days.

Possible that Ankor Wat might have been just a beautifully built religious monument and may not be a worshiping place, a display of local spiritual culture and Khmer king’s faith and his power.

Delhi- chaos legitimised

It was 40 nostalgic years back when I used to travel in bus from Delhi ISBT to Shimla during my first job. The bus-stand was newly built but used to be dirty, crowded, chaotic, noisy. And those days too it used to represent the classical rudeness of Delhi.

Forward to this day, it was after few decades that I was traveling to Shimla in bus and visited ISBT again. It was early morning. The place is it still crowded, chaotic, dirty, stinking, noisy and now also almost threatening. And I heard it is renovated. It still represents what Delhi at the core is.

These places ( another disappointing one is outside New Delhi Railway station) symbolise quality of local civility  and showcase raw street culture of the capital to the visitors.

Vendors, taxiwalaas, autorickshaw walaas in Delhi all need to be tutored by sending them to compulsory discipline and behavioural training to Mumbai, Kakinada, Cochin, Thirupathi for two weeks. Most Delhiites have this issue that they have never been to the world outside to experience what a good culture and public conduct is.

Conning consumers

Disadvantageous disconnect of service industry with consumers is widening day by day. Monopolistic business environs promoted by neo-oligarchs are rampantly emerging across the service industry which fuel this apathy even more. Perhaps airlines to other service providers all disregard consumers once they know whom they need to please for business. ‘Kya ukhad loge’…

While Govts world over are proactive on competition redressal as what google vs EU was recently seen, no one bothers on abject fall in customer support from service industry globally like airlines which stonewall passengers grievances and fleece them with uncontrolled surges in fares regularly. Or cell service providers creating fake maze of customer support with bots ruining user experience with no where to go in distress. Or Insurance companies dumping unbelievable policies on people with sky high promises.

Human intelligence and judging of history

Human intelligence has been progressively improving exponentially for past several millenniums. People of some specific past might have been possessing superior intelligence and phenomenal wisdom but only accounted for up to their present with respect to their past. And we the people of present times have superior most intelligence and wisdom, human ever possessed before us. Don’t be judgemental about primitivism or even fabled supremacism of people who lived before us. Let them rest in history as characters of those stories.

Tamil- oldest language still spoken

Even though we do take pride in our past and rightly so but we must not close eyes towards outer world where human too made marvellous progress and some places even much earlier. Language too particularly written one has been known to evolve much earlier at several places and spread outwards.

Tamil is indeed one of the more ancient languages but definitely not the oldest. It is popular street adaptability of Tamil and it’s strength over other contemporary languages of India ( eg Parakrit, Sanskrit) in terms of ease of conversation which manifested in its continuous adoption by people even after 2500 years. Tamil is not the oldest but OLDEST language which is still spoken almost same way as Pallvas and Pandias spoke or people even before while Prakrit vanished and Sanskrit being language of elite not the streets continued only in realm of classical literature only. That shows supremacy of Tamil over those languages.
